StandUp for Kids - Seattle was honored to be chosen by Puget Soundworks, an all-gender, LGBTQ-friendly chorus serving the Puget Sound region. They selected us as their nonprofit of choice for a supply drive and fundraiser. Their recent concert series, “Home is..” explored the many manifestations of home, and the meaning to those experiencing homelessness.

Puget Soundworks did a supply drive that brought in sleeping bags, blankets, over a thousand snack items and cash donations. We are grateful for their generosity and support and encourage you to experience the chorus in person. Not only are they dedicated to serving others but the chorus’ performances are joyous to behold. Thank you from all of us at StandUp for Kids!

Vote Now! Volunteer in Top 3 for International Community Hero Award

From SAP, a multinational software corporation: "Nicole has been volunteering since the age of fourteen and for the last three years has been working with StandUp For Kids - Hampton Roads, a non-profit organization that helps support disconnected and homeless youth in Virginia Beach. As well as running her own daycare center and studying full time, City fan Nicole has also become the volunteer co-Executive Director of StandUp For Kids - Hampton Roads. She is dedicated to making sure that the most vulnerable young people in the community have access to food, shelter and know there is someone who cares. Nicole was nominated by her husband, Matt, in proud recognition of her hard work. Nicole's phone rings 24/7 but when it comes to 'her kids,' there is no off time if they need help." Read the full article about Nicole and then vote for her as an international community hero.

StandUp For Kids is fueled by energetic people with a strong sense of social justice for our most vulnerable young people. Pictured are a few of the volunteers who serve on the national board along with staff leaders from two ends of the country after the May 17 board meeting in Chicago. We have a vibrant outreach program in Chicago and 17 other unique programs across the country.
